Let’s Tap

Sega’s new party game promises sheer fun with its engaging multiplayer gameplay and unique control scheme. Motion gaming controls have been used with many games for Nintendo Wii. But no game has used the controls in as unusual fashion as this game uses. The way of handling remote is weird in itself. You place the Wii Remote face-down on a rigid surface and then tap on the box to interact with the game.

The game doesn’t offer much variety with its gameplay but it’s a great low-price game for up to four friends. The control system makes you tap once or twice on the box to register a response. The  innovative control scheme works without a fault throughout the game. The collection features five types of games- running races, rhythm game, block puzzler, 2D side-scrolling shooter and an abstract drawing mode. Each game mode is designed to test your reflexes and skills. If enough players are not available, you can always include AI players to a multiplayer game.

There is also a Visualizer mode. In this mode, you can draw patterns in four different schemes- fireworks, water, paint or ink. You can use taps of varying intensity to create different shapes like a firework smiley. This mode involves no scoring and is enjoyable for kids.

Let’s tap, overall has an interesting artistic design and is populated with abstract backgrounds and colourful objects. The world features a track floating in space with planetary boundaries in background. The abstract environment and ambient soundtracks add to the fun factor.
